1. Martese Crew Member

There are both part and full time positions available. Hourly wage starts at $17.00 per hour, but we are not hesitant to increase wage for those that exemplify experience and maturity. The Martese cruise season begins in early June and finishes in mid to late September. There is a $2 per hour worked end of season bonus for those that work for a full season- at least to the end of the September Long Weekend.

Crew members spend the majority of their time on The Martese. Whether discussing the magic of Riding Mountain National Park with a young passenger, serving a cool beverage on a hot day, or hosting a classy dinner party or wedding, a friendly and gratuitous attitude is a must at all times. The crew aspect of this position means that you also have a significant role in departing and docking the Martese as well as the practise and potential use of emergency procedures. The Martese is regulated by Transport Canada, so we'll teach you a marine safety and emergency duties course at the beginning of the season.

- Serving experience an asset; Point-Of-Sale, accepting card and cash payments, taking and serving orders, cocktail mixing, basic food prep;

- Boating experience an asset (or at least knowing that you are not susceptible to sea sickness!).
+ Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Know how to use the Martese's life-saving equipment and understand emergency procedures.
- Ensure passengers are aware of and comply with safety precautions.
- Provide passengers with beverages and snacks. Collect payments.
- Facilitate the service of Dinner Cruise meals and private events.
- Keep the Martese clean.
- Organize and manage product inventory.
- Communicate with Kiosk staff and caterers to prepare for upcoming cruises.
- Continue learning and improving! There is always opportunity for increased responsibility and compensation, on both a day-to-day and year-to-year basis.
2. Marina Kiosk Staff

Marina Kiosk staff spend their time on Wasagaming’s Main Pier providing info about our services to potential customers, taking reservations, and providing rental customers with equipment and safety instructions. You are pretty much always outside interacting with and assisting customers while communicating with co-workers to ensure the Marina operates safe and smooth in all weather conditions. Confidence and public communication skills (or at least the attitude to attain them) are a must. The marina kiosk requires many different skill sets. We do not ask that you excel at all of them, but that you provide and share your strengths to the best of your ability and actively engage with co-workers and customers to acquire new ones.

- Hand tool use and mechanical knowledge.
- Boating experience. Knowledge of Clear Lake.
- Computer skills, Microsoft Office, Point-of-Sale, experience with both Windows and IOS.
+ Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Provide information about services and rates, collect payments.
- Respond to customer inquiries in person, by phone, and e-mail. Record reservations. Complete pre-departure rental paperwork.
- Distribute life jackets and rental equipment. Instruct customers on proper and safe operation of watercraft; Clean and prepare boats before and after rentals; Inspect watercraft for damage, maintain and repair when necessary.
- Monitor environment for safety hazards; Instruct customers on weather conditions and best safety practices.
- Fuel rental and customer boats. Ensure Marina’s tidiness and organization.
- Work as a team with fellow staff to ensure the smooth operation of the Marina. Learn from those more experienced and communicate your own knowledge and ideas.
3. Wild Spruce Clothing Store Retail Clerk

There are both part and full time positions available. The Wild Spruce Clothing store opens everyday in the summer from 10am to 6pm. Typically one staff member works this 8 hour day. Hourly wage starts at $18.00 per hour, but we are not hesitant to increase wage for those that exemplify experience and maturity. The Wild Spruce Store season begins in early May and finishes in mid to late September. There is a $2 per hour worked end of season bonus for those that work for a full season- at least to the end of the September Long Weekend.

The store sells surf-beach-summer focused clothing and accessories for adults and youth. Store staff members must engage and assist clientele in store and collect payment for purchases. Confidence and public communication skills (or at least the attitude to attain them) are a must. Store cleanliness, product display and organization, and a friendly attitude are essential for success.
